How This Friendship Became a Movement
Our story didn’t start with matching outfits, instant soul recognition, or “we just knew.”
It started professionally.
Same workplace. Same space. Separate worlds.
There was respect, admiration, and a very “we’re adults doing our jobs” vibe.
Then one day… Whitly didn’t show up to work.
Turns out, Whitly was home sick. Pregnant.
And almost at the exact same time, Sherry found out she was pregnant too.
That was the spark.
Two women, two unexpected pregnancies, sharing all the TMI, real-life, “what is happening to my body” conversations. Before we even realized we were building something deeper.
Nine months later, our babies arrived nine days apart.Both boys.Both best friends today.
At the time, though? We were still cautious. Still learning each other. Still not rushing into anything.
A family trip to Vermont sealed it.
A little too much wine. A lot of laughter. And that exact Step Brothers moment:
Spoiler alert: yes. Yes, we did.
From there, life did what life does.
Careers evolved.
Identities shifted.
Motherhood stretched us.
Business tested us.
Sometimes we walked our paths separately, but we never walked alone.
In 2020, Whitly made the life changing decision and moved to Toronto. There were tears (mostly Sherry’s).
But instead of breaking us, the distance proved something powerful:
Even miles apart, we grew closer.
And as our careers changed shape again and again, we both felt it:
Something was missing.
We always loved creating.
Speaking.
Sharing real conversations.
Impacting other women.
So in 2024, we finally said it out loud:
This isn’t random. This is the thing.
Soul Sisters was born!
The Hey Soul Sister podcast launched in January 2025.
Growth followed, personally and professionally.
We learned how to work together.
How different we are.
How perfectly those differences balance each other.
Yin. Yang.
From that passion came retreats for women.
Then a marketing agency called HerBrand in October 2025 built to help women in business because we’ve lived it.
And then we saw it clearly.
What was truly missing… was COMMUNITY
The kind we had. The kind that carried us through every season. The kind too many women are craving, but trying to build alone.
So we created the Soul Sisters Community.
Not as a product.
Not as a trend.
But as an extension of how we live, love, and do life and business together.
This space exists so you don’t have to do it alone.
So you can find the friendship you’ve been longing for.
So you can build, heal, celebrate, and evolve with other women beside you.
Because we know what’s possible when you stop walking alone.
